We recently deployed a cool new tool called SpaceDesigner. Despite the name, it has nothing to do with Star trek, Star Wars or any other space epic. Rather, it is an interactive virtual floor plan.
What that means is that we measured the house, and loaded up the approximate floor plan to the virtual tour. Clicking on the SpaceDesigner module of the virtual tour loads up that floor plan, along with a host of furniture and other household items… even a motorcycle.
You can click on the items and drag them on to the floor plan. Move them, re-size them (if your dining room table is longer, for example) and see how everything fits. Instead of having to make 31 trips to the house to see if the new bedroom furniture is going to fit in the master suite, just load it into the SpaceDesigner… at 2:00am.
It is free to use. It doesn’t require registration. You can save your layouts.
Along with the video tour, virtual tour, StyleDesigner and in depth website, we are looking for ways to make it easier to take a test drive in the house… at your speed and convenience.

This is a really cool little widget.
Basically, it allows you to “paint” several different rooms. The Dining Room, Great Room and Master Bedroom are all set up so that you can see what they would look like in different colors. Aside from “painting” the walls, you can also paint the trim and try out different floor coverings… several choices of wood, carpet and tile.
Visit the Virtual Tour on the top left of the page, and it will open in a new window. At the bottom of the page there is a little icon with paint swatches, a hammer and a brush… that would be the one.
This is seriously fun to play with.
